Tibetan Buddhist Phurpa Dagger 2

This is a great Phurpa dagger with Ganesh on the handle. This piece rests heavily in your hand and is a fascinating conversation piece. The phurpa is used in Buddhist ceremonies to exorcise demons or as a spiritual nail to pin down the distractions of greed, desire and envy. The sides of the Phurpa destroy the three poisons: attachment, aversion and delusion. Phurpa is used as a means of destroying voilence, hatred, and aggression by tying them to the blade of the phurpa and then vanquishing them with its tip. The phurpa (ritual dagger) is also used in the ritual slaying of negative emotions, such as anger.
